Designed by a Danish architect, in the tradition of wooden objects made to be handed down.
Every strand is threaded for one child's first minute, then engraved by hand in brass.
Half of the profit protects wild land in Switzerland, so the world they grow up in has a little more of it.

03 What you receive
Wood, brass and your date.
- Size
- About 50 cm from the hanging loop to the end of the tag. The Sun, the largest sphere, is 9 cm across.
- Materials
- Solid turned wood, oiled. The Moon and the engraved tag are brass.
- Made
- Turned, sanded, threaded and engraved by hand, one strand at a time, after your minute is known.
- Delivery
- Made to order. The delivery time is confirmed when the next edition opens.
- Hanging
- On the wall, out of a child's reach, never in or above the cot. The spheres are threaded on a strong cord and the brass tag has rounded edges.
- Guarantee
- If the date, time or place on your order was wrong, we re-thread and re-engrave it free of charge.

04 How it is made
From your sky to your wall.
Your minute
We calculate where the Sun, the Moon and every planet stood in the sky at the minute you choose. Earth hangs first: it is the point of view.
The sky becomes a strand
The circle the planets travel on is cut open and hung. Every body moves along it, from the Moon in hours to Neptune over decades.
Turned and engraved
Each sphere is turned and oiled by hand, threaded in your order, and the brass tag is engraved with your date and time.
Gift card
Give a Moment before the baby is born.
For a Götti, a Gotte or grandparents-to-be. The card covers one Moment in any wood; the parents enter the minute once the baby has arrived.
Half goes to nature

A child born today will live into the next century. Half of the profit from every Moment buys and protects untouched forest and meadow in Switzerland, left wild for birds, insects and old trees. Land that is protected now is still there when they are grown.
We will name the nature-protection partner and report the square metres protected before the first edition ships.

Questions and delivery
Do I need the exact time of birth?
It helps. The time of birth is on the birth certificate and in the hospital records. Without a place, the order often holds for days; with the place of birth, the strand starts at the horizon, which turns through the day, so the time matters.
Is it a toy?
No. Moment is a decoration to look at, not to play with. It contains small parts that a baby or small child could choke on. Hang it on a wall out of reach, never in or above the cot, and keep it out of reach as the child grows.
Where does the 50% go?
Half of the profit from every Moment buys and protects untouched forest and meadow in Switzerland, to be left wild for biodiversity. We will name the partner organisation and report how many square metres each edition protected.
Can I give it as a Götti or Gotte?
Yes. Order it with the birth minute, or give the gift card before the birth and let the parents fill in the minute later.
Why does the place of birth matter?
The strand starts at the eastern horizon above Switzerland, so the order changes through the day. For now, all calculations are fixed to Switzerland, which keeps the process simple while we refine the product.
Is this astrology?
No. Moment uses astronomical positions: where the Sun, the Moon and the planets stood along their path across the sky, calculated with the open-source Astronomy Engine.
When will my Moment arrive?
Every strand is made to order. The delivery time is confirmed when the next edition opens, and people on the waiting list hear first.
Can I change the date after ordering?
Yes, until your strand is threaded. If a date, time or place turns out to be wrong after delivery, we re-thread and re-engrave it free of charge.
